Why I Created Sterling Parents

I’ve been an ObGyn since 2012—but it wasn’t until I became a mother myself that my entire perspective on this work deepened.

After going through three very different pregnancies and postpartum experiences, I saw firsthand how much the mental load, stress, and emotional strain impact not only pregnancy—but birth, postpartum recovery, and early motherhood.

Once I became a parent, I also saw this same pattern everywhere: in my patients, in my friends, in myself. The support women were getting was fragmented at best—brief appointments, incomplete advice, and little to no attention to their emotional wellbeing. That’s when I knew I had to do things differently.

From Clinical Practice to Building Something Better

In 2019, I made the decision to leave my clinical practice and founded Sterling Parents—a membership program designed to provide true education, guidance, and holistic support for women navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Since then, we’ve helped thousands of women feel more prepared, supported, and empowered on their journey.

The Sterling Parents App

In 2024, we expanded that care into the Sterling Parents App—bringing everything we’ve built directly into women’s hands.

With the current state of healthcare in America—where so much of pregnancy care is rushed, fragmented, and profit-driven—I knew it was absolutely essential to build an app that put women first.

Sterling Parents is women-founded and women-led, created with real respect for your privacy: no ads, no data selling, no tracking—just trusted, science-backed care that supports your whole self.

The research is clear: when you care for your mental and emotional wellbeing—not just your physical body—you improve outcomes for yourself and your baby. That’s why the app goes far beyond medical facts alone: you’ll find tools for mindfulness, emotional resilience, stress reduction, and true preparation for birth, breastfeeding, and baby care.
